Hi, I'm Stephanie Dartinet, a registered physiotherapist and qualified fitness instructor with over 20 years' NHS experience in neurology, oncology and palliative care rehabilitation.
I help adults who need help regaining or maintaining mobility and function due to any acute or chronic condition such as a stroke; surgery (knee and hip replacement for instance); any progressive or degenerative condition such as dementia, Alzheimer's or Parkinson's; cancer (whether it is curable or not) and brain tumours; palliative care or any (often age related) health condition.

I focus on functional rehabilitation which means assessing you as an individual, in your environment and based on your needs, and aiming to help you achieve everyday tasks or goals that matter to you.
This can range from prescribing exercises to gain strength and independence, to advising on practical solutions and equipment at home if needed.

PRICING
Assessment and pricing
I charge £125 for the first physiotherapy session, which includes travel to your home, care home, workplace or gym, at a time that is convenient to you, and for an assessment that will last up to 90 minutes.
Follow up hourly treatments cost £105.

My mission
I'm Stephanie Dartinet, a physio with over 20 years experience in NHS and private practice. My mission and passion is to both empower and educate you to maximise your mobility and function, both at home and outdoors, despite increased frailty that may be due to age, surgery, life-limiting or other treatable illnesses
What I do
My role includes (and is not limited to):
- Helping you or your loved ones lead a full and meaningful life as long as possible and as much as possible regardless on your illness or condition
- Helping adults of all ages to overcome or minimise the impact of sudden or long term health conditions
- Supporting clients in participating in everyday activities through movement assessment, exercise prescription and rehabilitation programmes to regain or maintain mobility and function.
- Helping clients achieve their rehabilitation goals set together and according to their priorities, what matters to them.
- Educate clients and their families and carers about mobility and function, reducing carer’s burden and maximising clients’ independence
- Helping to improve and maximise clients’ abilities to function, mobilise and live as independently as possible, particularly following hospital admission, to prevent hospital admission in case of increased frailty, and while residing in a nursing or care home

- Breast surgery rehabilitation and specifically Axillary Web Syndrome or “Cording”
- Cancer rehabilitation pre-treatment, during treatment, post-treatment, and even years after
- Cancer related fatigue
- Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy
- Decreased mobility and function due to age, surgery or illness
- General deconditioning and fitness
- Loss of strength
- Neurological conditions, such as Motor Neurone Disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multi-system atrophy
- Non pharmacological breathlessness management with or without an anxiety component
- Rehabilitation after surgery
- Supervised indoor and outdoor walks (with your dog if you want)

Mobility aid assessments/advice
- Mobility assessment including walking aids technique and advice
- Stair mobility assessment and advice
- Assessment of your current gait/mobility and how this is impacting on your ability to get around within and outside your home.
- Assessment of suitable mobility aid options and trial of these - avoiding wasting money on unnecessary, unsuitable or unsafe walking aids
- Mobility and stair practice within or outside your home to regain or progress confidence, fitness and independence.
- Wheelchair advice and assessment of specific type, sizing and relevant cushion requirements.
- Education of family members and carers about using equipment such as hoists and other home equipment
Home-based Rehabilitation
- Setting of client-centred goals to maximise motivation and engagement in treatment sessions.
- Personalised exercise training sessions undertaken at home or at a venue of your choice such as a gym or park.
- Task practice sessions to rebuild confidence and independence with daily tasks/skills within or outside the home, including but not exclusively: Going up/down stairs, Getting in/out of a car, Getting in/out of your property to access local community or to attend appointments, Accessing local community via relevant transport services, including bus, tube, mobility scooter..
- Teaching sessions with family members and /or carers who may be supporting you at home to carry over your rehabilitation between sessions with your Occupational Therapist.
- Manual handling assessment - to advise and teach strategies to assist others to help you move around in the safest and best way possible
- Breathlessness management programme including physical and mental exercises
